“luther” Wins Cannes Lions for Excellence in Music Video

Director Karena Evans and Fela have won an Entertainment Lion for Music in the Excellence in Music Video category at the 2026 Cannes Lions for luther by Kendrick Lamar featuring SZA.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is the advertising and creative industry's most prestigious global awards, honoring the best work in creativity across film, music, design, and entertainment. The Entertainment Lions for Music specifically recognize excellence in musical storytelling and craft.

The win is Fela's first Cannes Lion in the company's history, and caps a standout awards run for the video itself. Earlier this year, luther took home the Webby for Best Music Video and earned Evans and Fela Video of the Year at the 2026 Juno Awards. The song has been just as decorated, spending 13 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
