SXSW has unveiled 'Sweetness,' the debut feature from director Emma Higgins, as an official world premiere for its 2025 lineup. Produced by Fela, the film stars Kate Hallett (Women Talking) and Herman Tømmeraas (Ragnarok) in a coming-of-age drama that explores the collision of teenage fantasy and harsh reality. Sweetness follows 16-year-old Rylee, who, after a chance encounter with her rock star crush, discovers he is a dysfunctional drug addict. Determined to help him, she takes it upon herself to help him, ultimately forcing her teenage fantasies into reality. The film marks Fela’s first feature as the company expands into film and television.
